Omar Offendum "Poets of Protest"

Omar Offendum, Syrian-American Hip Hop artist "born in the KSA, raised in the USA, and repeatedly hassled by the TSA" and Filipino American DJ Boo teamed up to create an experimental juxtaposition of some of the Arab World's most notable poetic voices layered and scratched by DJ Boo over a mix of sample based Hip Hop instrumentals from Omar Offendum's beat catalogue.

The four poets sampled were Mazen Maarouf from Palestine, Manal Al Sheikh from Iraq, Ahmed Fouad Negm from Egypt and Hala Mohammad from Syria.
