The Directors Cut of PHATWA released by The Narcicyst

Last week, The Narcicyst one of my favorite rappers, released the full 10-minute version of PHATWA celebrating the first million hits on Narcy's website. The video was directed by Hala Alsalman and features the track PHATWA, found on the album that is entitled after the rappers name "The Narcicyst", released back in 2009. In the song, Narcy raps about the CIA, FBI and how the character portrayed by him has to endure the racial profiling of security officials and how he is unfairly targeted and stigmatized due to his Arabic ethnicity, "Iraqi is the new Black".

The track's title, "P.H.A.T.W.A." is an acronym derived from the Islamic ruling or judgment "Fatwa", alluding to the CIA and FBI “alphabet boys”. According to the album liner notes, P.H.A.T.W.A. stands for Political Hip-Hop Attracting The World’s Attention.
